TJP Make Tags Scripting

Section Five - Add Text Script

You have edited the Make Tags Script and now it's time to add text to your tag. This entire Section is extremely important and you must follow the instructions very carefully. If you miss one tiny thing the script will not work.

  • 1. Open the original tag in PSP. Make a duplicate of it - Shift D and close out the original.

  • 2. Make sure you have your TagName-MakeTags selected in the script area

  • 3. Choose the Text Tool

  • 4. Pick the color you want for your text

  • 5. Pick the Font you want

  • 6. Set the Units size to "Points" not "Pixels"
(If version 8 does not have this option then stay with pixels.)

  • 7. Create as "Vector"

  • 8. AntiAlias "Smooth"

  • 9. Stroke Width "0"
  • Okay now you are ready to create the AddText Script... 1. Look up at your Script Toolbar and you will see a round circle like a donut. Click that.

  • 2. Add your text name and click apply

  • 3. DO NOT MOVE OR DO ANYTHING ELSE TO THE TEXT.

  • 4. Again look at the Script Toolbar and you will see at the end an icon that looks like a floppy disc. When you put your cursor over it you should see "Save Script Recording". CLICK that.

  • 5. Your save box will come up. Save as YourTagName-AddText.pspscript (note the hyphen between the tag name and the addtext). Save this in the same folder you have the YourTagName-MakeTags.pspscript.
Example: eloisethankyou-AddText.pspscript (saved in eloisethankyou folder)

  • 6. Go to your script toolbar pull down list. Select: YourTagName-AddText

  • 7. Click on that scroll/featherpen again and you will get menu type box. Go to the near bottom right side and click on "Edit" and the script text doc will open for you.

  • 8. Go back to your desktop's Scripting folder and move the "TJP-MakeTagsTextForScript1.text document" to your ScriptTags folder. You will need this whenever you make additional tags.

Open that TJP-MakeTagsTextForScript1.text document. COPY the 2 lines including the blank spaces at the beggining of each line - just highlight the entire thing and copy.

  • 9. Go back to YourTagName-AddText script doc and you will see the 2nd paragraph looks something like this:
def Do(Environment): Right here is where you hit your "enter key" for space
    # EnableOptimizedScriptUndo
    App.Do( Environment, 'EnableOptimizedScriptUndo', {

That enter space is where you want to paste the 2 lines you copied. So it should end up looking exactly like this:

NOTE: how those 2 lines are lined up with the 2 lines below them? This is very important.

  • 10. Go to almost the bottom area of that doc. and look for something like below but where I have the red TagName it will have a u Your Name Replace your name so it looks exactly like this (lol but without the color).

Type that Exactly as shown "TagName," DO NOT type the name of your tag.

  • 11. Save and close....
Only one more section!
